Above the Monkey God

So deeply you drifted in slumber, dreaming to be a bug, only to find out you woke as one.
Did you become what you dreamed, or was it you all along?
Whatever is your curse, further in this reality more it feels like a dream. Not alone, but as confused, awake lost in a field of dirt and dark stalks of keratin.
Near the group lies the remains of what once was a warm fire.
In the ashes, a diary, now unreadable except by a rough drawing of a map.
Seems like there are answers nearby.
